Borrowing Reminders 

Students in Year 1 – 6 are able to borrow up to 6 items each week. 

Parents are always welcome to join the Library service and borrow 10 additional items for your family. 

Library Bags are essential to protect books on their journey to and from school. Please ensure your child has a Library Bag or satchel each week on their Library day. 

Digital Reading 

Don’t forget in addition to the physical books you can borrow from our Library our student subscriptions can be used for digital reading too. Dedicate some of your child’s allocated ‘screen time’ to READING EGGS or SUNSHINE ONLINE. Sunshine online has been updated and the APP is no longer compatible. You should be able to use the program via the link on AccessIt (our Library Homepage). 

Typing Tournament  

Typing skills are essential skills. Each student in Year 2-6 at Lourdes has access to Typing Tournament to help them learn how to touch type. Logon to Typing Tournament via AccessIt. 

Tech Club 

Tech Club will run a little differently this term. We have been lucky enough to secure the team from IntegratedSTEM to run their NEW ‘Discover Drones’ program at Lourdes. This brand new program will inspire your child to learn how drones are used in the real-world hands-on through a number of pilot and programming challenges. They will also delve deep into advanced technologies; teaching students the skills to develop their own bespoke ag-tech machine vision and artificial intelligence algorithms for object detection applications - inspired by the research our founder has conducted with John Deere tractors! Please complete the ONLINE REGISTRATION and return the form to school as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. There are only a FEW spaces remaining.  

Book Club 

Book Club orders for Issue 2 have been delivered. We will not be handing out brochures for Issue 3 as BOOK FAIR is coming to Lourdes. Book Club will return later this term in Issue 4. For any issues with Book Club please contact: Danielle.Leathart@twb.catholic.edu.au 

Chess 

Chess lessons will return to Lourdes in Term 2 with Mr Lord. Lessons run each Tuesday morning from Week 2 – 9 from 7:45am – 8:30am. Please collect a permission form from the Office or the Library and return it as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Spaces are limited. 

Date Claimers 

National Simultaneous Storytime from SPACE on May 19 at 11am 

Book Fair will be back at Lourdes from May 13th 2021. Please come along and support Book Fair. Every item sold helps us to purchase new resources. Flyers will be coming home SOON!
